In 1947, with everyone humming Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and witnessing Major League Baseball's historic signing of Jackie Robinson, the Greater Quad City Auto Auction opened its doors, in Coal Valley, IL, just a few short miles from the present location. The early Sixties brought Pop Art, bomb shelters, The Beatles and a move to East Moline, IL where approximately 125 vehicles were consigned each Tuesday evening. With a continued increase in consignments and sales, GQCAA soon expanded to two weekly auctions in 1995. On January 19, 1999, GQCAA held it's first auction at the 64 acre site located just behind the Quad City International airport in Milan, IL. Today, the state-of-the-art, 51,000 square foot facility is home to over 1,000 consignments per week, six lanes and over 150 employees. Currently, GQCAA holds monthly GSA auctions and weekly Lease/Rental/Bank repo auctions. Members of: |
